Ch Sunsalve Hollidaze at Hutaka
As if I wasn’t lucky enough to have owned and shown her sire “Tawny”, I was fortunate enough to have a real superstar on my hands with Hollidaze! Bred by Terry Nethercott, who was better known for his Pekinese, Holly was a born showgirl with an amazing ability to ensure that she would not be overlooked. When she won Best In Show at Bournemouth Championship Show, she was the first whippet to win at this level for over 6 years. In all she won several Reserve CC’s – one at Crufts. Four CC’s, all with BOB (her first at 10 months of age, with Hound Group 2) 2 Hound Group wins and was Top Whippet 1988
There were 2 siblings in Hollidaze litter of an unusual colour – a tri-coloured bitch and a Black and Tan – Sunsalve Heatwave at Hutaka who went to France to the de Grillemont Kennel of Colette de Saint-Seine.
I eventually had a litter from Hollidaze with Ch Cottonmere Monty of Oakbark and three of the litter went to Scandinavia;
Due to personal commitments I had at the time, and because I wanted Holly to be able to continue her show career, she went to live in Norway with my good friend Eva Stake (Limones). We had her in partnership and she had a further litter in Norway by French bred Diorissimo du Manoir de la Grenouillere
